 Zuihitsu è un genere di letteratura giapponese composto da saggi personali vagamente connessi e idee frammentate che in genere rispondono ai dintorni dell'autore. Il nome deriva da due Kanji che significano "a volontà" e "penna".

is a genre of Japanese literature consisting of loosely connected personal essays and fragmented ideas that typically respond to the author's surroundings.

There is nothing like zuihitsu, and its definition slips through our fingers. It is a classical Japanese genre that allows the free movement of genres and styles.
