 My paintings are inspired by the culture and daily scenes in Japan, in particular my artistic works are centered on personal photographs of maiko and geisha of Kyoto. I try to capture their grace, their essence and the elaborate details of kimonos through the use of painting with a passion for traditional fabrics. Transposing the refined atmosphere of historic districts, dances and privileged moments with a very personal combination inspired by the beauty of nature and the changing seasons. I use not only traditional techniques with the use of mineral pigments, but also Japanese lacquers and gold leaf to enhance the preciousness of details and create effects of light and depth.

I miei dipinti sono ispirati dalla cultura e dalle scene quotidiane in Giappone, in particolare i miei lavori artistici hanno come fulcro le fotografie personali di maiko e geishe di Kyoto. Cerco attraverso l uso della pittura di catturare la loro grazia, la loro essenza ed  i dettagli elaborati dei kimono con una passione per i tessuti tradizionali. Trasponendo l’atmosfera raffinata dei quartieri storici, delle danze e dei momenti privilegiati con una combinazione molto personale ispirata dalla bellezza della natura e al cambiamento delle stagioni. Utilizzo, non solo tecniche tradizionali con l uso di pigmenti minerali, ma anche le lacche giapponesi e la foglia d oro per esaltare la preziosità dei dettagli e creare effetti di luce e profondità.

La mia arte è un dialogo tra l’antico e il contemporaneo, tra tradizioni millenarie e un linguaggio poetico personale, maturato in oltre dieci anni di viaggi dal sud al nord del Giappone.

My art is a dialogue between the ancient and the contemporary, between ancient traditions and a personal poetic language, matured in over ten years of travel from the south to the north of Japan.The Japanese tea ceremony (茶道, sadō or chadō, lit. "the way of tea" or 茶の湯, chanoyu) is a Japanese tradition steeped in history. It is a ceremonial way of preparing and drinking green tea typically in a traditional tearoom with tatami floor. Beyond just serving and receiving tea, one of the main purposes of the tea ceremony is for the guests to enjoy the hospitality of the host in an atmosphere distinct from the fast pace of everyday life.
